La Céleste Levure® was born from the two passions of a young doctorate student: yeasts (''levures'', whose genes he studies) and wines that become such at their contact.

La Céleste Levure initially started fermenting in 1989 as a wine club. After a few years (in 1993), a second fermentation lead to the birth of a wine agency specializing in California wines. At that time, as a one man show and often a man and wife show, La Céleste Levure allied with a bigger agency to enable a better distribution of its wines in Quebec.

Following a certain amount of transformation and maturing, La Céleste Levure restructured in 2000, to meet in an autonomous fashion, the growing demands of its customers and suppliers and the challenges of an ever more competitive environment.

By keeping focusing on high-quality wines and image, La Céleste targets, among others, the sophisticated consumer ready to invest more to satisfy his passion. Over the years, the breadth of its selection has spread to offer more reasonably priced wines. Nevertheless, the celestial mission remains to ensure that the presence of the name La Céleste Levure on the outside of a wine bottle is a predictor for uncompromising value and pleasure for what is inside.
